When asked what makes living in Eagle so appealing, residents of this bedroom community share similar sentiments.  One long-time local expressed it this way, “Eagle is one of the only places that successfully balances the small town feel with big city conveniences.”

Lying just 8 miles west of Boise, Eagle has all the modern shopping amenities and services of a large metropolitan city at its disposal.  However, Eagle itself touts a quieter landscape; tree lined streets and modest historic architecture tell tales of simpler times.  Remnants of the city’s humble start can be seen downtown, where buildings dating back to the early 1900’s still stand in operation.  Landmarks such as the town’s first bank (now home to a locally-owned and favored Italian restaurant) and a saloon-era drugstore called “Orville Jackson’s”, serve as daily reminders of this grass-roots community’s early beginnings.

The south channel of the Boise River stretches the length of the city, bringing wildlife, lush trees and breathtaking views along with it.  Twenty-three miles of greenbelt paths follow the river and connect
Eagle and Boise, attracting pedestrians and bicyclists year-round.
To the north, the foothills provide a postcard perfect backdrop and host miles of intricate trails for mountain bikers, equestrians and hikers.  Recreation of all types, including fishing, camping and skiing are right outside the front door.

As if the social, commercial and recreational benefits of this small town weren’t enough, Eagle also experiences all four seasons. Mild winters bring peaceful white landscapes to your window and vibrant colors of sleepy fall trees compete with Eagle’s bright orange sunsets.  Summer is busy with activity as the town’s central gathering place, “Heritage Park”, bustles with children and laughter.  In the evenings, locals gather on restaurants patios for live music and food.
